A Big Obstacle to Getting What You Want

Do you achieve most of what you set out to achieve? If not, you may be your biggest obstacle. While you may want a certain outcome, you may be sabotaging yourself without even being aware of how.

Developing self is key to achieving goals and living the life of your dreams, by weeding out the beliefs (thoughts held as true), chatter and actions that don’t lead you to the outcomes you want.

The person you are (the thoughts you think, the beliefs you hold, the words you speak and the actions you take) all contribute to creating experiences for yourself. The easiest way to uncover why you are getting what you are getting in life is to honestly look at who you are being.

For instance, if you frequently think you are unhealthy, often mention all your ills and ails to anyone who will listen, and believe that that’s just the way things are and you cannot do anything about it, you will continue to have health problems. You are focusing and resonating with ill health, therefore you experience ill health.

To change that, start by becoming conscious of every time you comment on your ill health and change the words to the outcome you would rather have … for instance, change, “I am sick of being sick” to “I am making healthier choices and feel better every day.” Can you notice the difference in how each phrase feels when you say it?

The path to wellness cannot be found through focusing on sickness. And this applies to all areas of life. Focus on what you want, not on what you do not want, and watch yourself grow toward that which you desire.
